Vendors from all over New England gathered to network and share in some good times. We started off the night with a little mingling and eating, thanks to some tasty treats from Wild Orchid ( My fav was the raspberry lemonade) Next we began our “speed dating” where we sat intimately close and had two minutes to tell the other person who and what we are, and then rotate. It got so loud because we were all laughing and having such a great time… two minutes was not enough time ;) This was all followed by some diner and drinks at the local pub. We got to meet some great people. The gals at Object Splendor decorated our fab meet up. And Sara Faella designed and created a beautiful head piece for Kate Parker to wear for the event. We would like to thank Boston University’s Center for Digital Imagining Arts for hosting the meet up and Kate and Liz from My Kate Parker for putting it all together. We would love to see more vendors at the next one!

]]> http://www.thefedsstudio.com/blog/?feed=rss2&p=108 5 Inspire Boston 2010, Amazing! http://www.thefedsstudio.com/blog/?p=100 http://www.thefedsstudio.com/blog/?p=100#comments Sat, 27 Feb 2010 00:42:21 +0000 admin http://www.thefedsstudio.com/blog/?p=100 This week we attended and taught a class at Inspire Boston.  Inspire Boston is a mini conference for wedding photographers in the Boston / New England area that was put together by the most amazing friends of ours(Matt and Enna Grazier).  Just 3 months ago we sat with The Graziers and about 10 other studios from the Boston and CT area that helping in bringing this together. We have already seen several other photographers that attended Inspire Boston blog about how awesome it was. New England Wedding Photographers are a breed of there own. They have to cram the majority of their weddings into a very short wedding season (June-October) deal with less than ideal weather and sunlight. Then on top of it spend the off season in the snowy, dark, inspiration crushing winter. But NOT anymore INSPIRE BOSTON looks like it is here to stay and inspire during those miserable winter months.

Here is a video and photo account of the 2 day mini conference. Richard Esposito edited this video during the last day of Inspire Boston.  Myself(James) and Tony for Team Yu helped with capturing some video and images along with Richard so he could put this together.

Only way to stay inspired in the middle of this cold nasty New England winter is to spend time with more than 80 of the greatest people. 2 more would have made it perfect. (you know who you are, we love you guys, our prayers are with you and there will always be 2011)

After some light housekeeping, I felt a little contraction and then noticed another and another… I told James that they were 10 minutes apart, and we decided to give the doctor a call. I really didn’t want to drive to the hospital for false labor, after all I still had 4 weeks til my due date. By the time we got to the doctors (about 20 minutes after telling James I was having contractions) my contractions were 8 minutes apart. The doctor said, yes I was in labor and to quickly get to the hospital. Of course James and I stopped at the 7-11 to grab snacks ;) When we got the hospital, my contractions were now 5 minutes apart. I was in no pain, just like my previous pregnancy ( lucky me) so the hospital staff told me to walk around to get things to progress. After about 30 minutes, I was in intense pain. They placed a monitor on me and noticed that my contractions were less than 1 minute apart. After a nurse checked me to see if I was progressing, another nurse came in to check me as well. When she did, her face turned white and said she couldn’t feel the baby’s head. Panic set in. She checked with the ultrasound and discovered the baby was breeched and a emergency c-section was needed. From that moment to when I delivered Violette was about 20 minutes.  Violette Lorraine Federico was born at sunset, 7:31pm on July 22nd, she was 6lbs. 3oz and 18 inches. After several other problems inclusing the need for a second spinal to correct a spinal leak, we finally were able to bring our beautiful baby girl home. Her big sisters are absolutely in love with their new baby. Many more photos are sure to follow including our official baby announcement.
